Scene One, Take One has completely sold out! Thanks to all those who bought a copy – but FEAR NOT, the entire thing is up for download on the music page of my website. Also, all those of you who have a copy of the album, copy it, give it to your friends, direct them here. Spread the love! It’s all legal :D
Thanks for supporting me, guys, you are awesome! Keep an eye out for cool things in the very near future.
The time has come, folks! After a few days of orders, a couple of weeks of CD printing and almost half a year of songwriting, February 12th 2010 is the day that my debut album is released!
There are still a few hard copies available if you’re that way inclined, and it’s even on Amazon for only £4 – soon to be on iTunes, I’ll keep you posted – but for the grand total of £0.00, you too can be the proud owner of Scene One, Take One.
Enjoy, and keep an eye on benforbes.co.uk for new projects in the pipeline.
It’s finally coming, guys. Scene One, Take One, my debut album is almost in our grasp, and you can order one today! Just hit me up at ben[AT]benforbes.co.uk and tell me which number album you would like, and we can get this show on the road. It’ll also soon be available on the iTunes store and from this website, but there are only 50 physical copies! Go forth!
I’m starting the RPM Challenge today. For tl;dr – write 10 songs or 35 minutes of original music in the month of February.
You can follow my progress here, and I should come out with something pretty cool by the end of the 28 days. That’s over one song every 3 days, for the record. It’s quite a challenge to meet because you have to force inspiration upon yourself, which I think is pretty cool.

It will be available for purchase from me for a measly £5, and this small £5 will obtain you the disc, real packaging, special artwork from Cedes Chan, and a personalised message/signature/skin sample or whatever along with this. It will also be available for free from my website to download [what a flawed business model].
There will only be 50 copies available, I am afraid, so if you want one, you must act fast! I’ll let you know more as the album hits some undetermined release.
Here’s a new song, because I’ve been quite quiet on the song front lately, because of my upcoming album, Scene One, Take One. It’s another cover, and hence fits into the STSNBCOAAG [Songs That Should Never Be Covered On An Acoustic Guitar].
The song varies in name, sometimes it’s called A Bitch Called Wanda, sometimes it’s Wanda, Darling of the Jockey Club, but here it is, for your listening pleasure, Ben Forbes’ one-take live cover of Duke Special: click!
… or if that doesn’t show up, click here to see me do a live cover of Lemon Demon’s awesome song, Word Disassociation. While you’re at it, why don’t you become a fan of me on Facebook or last.fm too?
Oh, and happy 2010, Disassociation.

p.s. my live page is all updated and easy to navigate now :)
If you point your cursor in this direction and press down on that button there, you will be directed to the 17th December gig at the Birdcage. Small crowd but overall very good. Here’s to more!
80s rock references aside, I turned 18 fairly recently. The main question I’ve been asked is “HOW DOES IT FEEL?”
… “How does it feel?”? I don’t know, no different?
I bought some alkeehols to celebrate the novelty, but they are left undrunk. Find me an alcohol that I like and I’ll drink it.
Meanwhile, thanks for the lovely cards and presents, folks. :)
Particularly to Cedes who made me this wondrous little Howl’s Moving Castle box with hand-drawn art of Sophie, Howl and others PLUS A LITTLE PLUSHIE CALCIFER :D
Howl on the left, Turniphead and Markl on the right, AWESOMEFIRE on the top
